How to Build an Effective Mailing List

Building a profitable mailing list can earn you residual income for years to come. Internet marketers whom do not create and nurture a good email list are leaving money on the table.

Why build a list of email addresses anyway? When you build a list of subscribers you are in fact building a list of potential customers whom you can make money from at the 'flick' of an email. You can establish a relationship with this list by sending out weekly tips or free tools related to your niche. Along with these tips you can also include sales offers. This is how you send out one email and rake in thousands of dollars in profit. You need to remember though, you need quality up to date content and quality products and otherwise you will have as many unsubscribing as you do subscribing.

If you want people to sign up to your list you need a compelling offer. You could go about this in several different ways. First you could offer a newsletter or a free eBook, this is popular. You can participate in what is called a giveaway event. This is where multiple marketers join together and send out many different offers to their combined lists (with the intent on getting new subscribers). You will also need to work on a compelling landing or squeeze page, more on that in another article.

How can you attract targeted visitors to your list, without traffic you get zero sign ups. Once you create your offer, set up your landing page we need to generate some traffic. Forum marketing is one way, participate in niche forums. When you make a post you get to put your link in your signature file. You should pick 3 or 4 targeted forums and try and post 5 to 10 posts per day. It's not hard but does require time. You can comment on blog post, search engines love blogs. It works the same way as forums you get a link back with every post. Don't forget, search engine marketing and make sure your landing page is search engine friendly. You can't beat organic targeted traffic. You could also try traffic exchanges, proceed with caution as some of these are worth the effort and some are not.

In closing, for a unique list of hungry ready to buy prospects you need an auto responded a plan for what to do with your list, a compelling offer of some kind and a good landing page.
